Just a few pictures...
I am definitely not in the best of moods. When I'm in one of these moods, my friends know to give me a wide berth until I either sort it out or get over it. Apparently, my lace knitting needs to learn this as well. While trying to calm down this evening, I picked up my Lotus Blossom shawl for the first time in a couple of weeks and discover the pattern isn't working. I count my stitches and I'm off one - and I have no clue where. So after tinking back just over 2 rows (400+ stitches), I'm frustrated and v.v. grumpy. ::sigh:: I can't win for losing tonight. So I put down the knitting and decided to take some pictures instead.
Lotus Blossom after tinking and reknitting the two rows... she does look lovely, doesn't she?
Finally, a picture of Martha. While this knit took for-bloody-ever, the finished result is so worth it. My official photog has promised to be at Late Night, so there will be pictures of me in Martha.
Pattern: Martha from Rowan 37
Yarn: Just over 8 balls of Rowan 4-ply Cotton in Cooked Apple (would have been just under 8 balls, but the 8th ball decided to take a header into the water when I got a pedicure Friday night, so I had to break into ball 9)
Cast on: Around 20-23 March 2005 Seamed: 6 August 2005
Needles: 24" US1 & US2 Addi Turbos
Mods: I actually didn't make any in this pattern! Will surprises never cease?
Comments: Knitting this took so long, but I love the sweater. I know it will become a staple in my wardrobe. Very classic.
Much stash enhancement has been going on around here. Not that I've finished Lotus Blossom or anything, but I had to get some more lovely laceweight... in the form of Artisan Merino Lace from Cherry Tree Hill in Wedgewood and Misti Alpaca Laceweight in the Melange Forest colorway. I'm not sure what the Artisan will become, but I think that the Misti will become a Flower Basket Shawl for my mom. At the end? That would be 15 luscious balls of Jaeger Chamonix - I got a super-fabulous deal on the first 10 and an awesome deal on the last 5, so I just had to bring it all home. It's destined to become this:
Cranberry from the Jaeger JB10 book. Isn't she purrty? It looks like it'll be the perfect fall/winter sweater coat - so warm and I don't even care that it will probably make me look like a house. (But at least it'll be a warm, cabled house...)
And just because I can
A picture I took last week on one of my walks. I ended up walking around the Iwo Jima Memorial at dusk and got inspired to pick up the camera... luckily I had the camera with me. It's been way too long since I've taken any pictures purely for myself, something I intend to remedy.

Be ready to strike a pose! See you tonight!

Martha looks wonderful! I hope someday once I've gained more knitting experience, I'll be brave enough to knit my very own...

Martha looks beautiful! I can't wait to see her on you. I've been eyeing that sweater for a while, but need to get through my current 4 ply projects before I can be motivated to start another.
And I love the Jaeger cable house you want to do :)
p.s. This is my first visit to your blog. I love your work!
